My experimental project in Computer Vision field using cheap, low quality cameras for real-time spatial measurements. The cost of the whole project was about $800.

The Computer Vision system consists of six IEEE 1394 digital video cameras.
The image acquired by one of the cameras.
After fractions of seconds the accurate 3D data is ready. On the right image you can see the actual 3D coordinates and the diameter of my wrist (in millimeters).  
Here you can see the triangulation of can surface and the minimal bounding box.
